Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Regional hospital is hiring for a BE / BC OBGYN in Central Eastern Maine to join its dedicated team. Seeking a provider vested in the community and practice to rejuvenate procedures, draw in more patients and see a rise in the number of births. We have a beautiful LDRP unit with exceptional LDRP nurses.

• This provider will be joining one other full-time OBGYN and a locum OBGYN that provides coverage relief
• Each provider will receive 6 weeks vacation and two weeks cme (with a combined total of 16 weeks per year) with the locum retiring provider providing office coverage and call for a total of 16 weeks for year, leaving a great work life balance for the remaining providers
• Four day work week, either Monday or Friday off
• The office visits are approximately 16 patients daily for each provider, seeing approximately 3,300 patients annually
• Each provider has one morning a week set aside in the OR for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Procedures done in the office are Ultra Sounds, LEEP procedures and colposcopies, IUD insertions, Nexplanon insertions, endometrial biopsies and pessary insertions. Combined OR procedures for both current providers average approximately 100 to 125 annually.
• Designated LPM / MA
• Call is 1 : 3 but very minimal. Hospital has approximately 120 births annually. Of the 120 births this past year it had about 25 C-Sections. About half of that number are new C-Sections with the other half being repeat sections.

Located on the section of the border that runs vertically between the United States and Canada, the area is in Maine s Aroostook County and is set among some of the state and country s most rural, scenic, and rugged landscapes. It s also known for its variety of annual fairs and festivals that draw people from all over the region, and its border location makes day-trips into Canada easy as well. During the warm summer months, the area around Houlton comes alive with more activities than most visitors expect; many of them have been going on for years and are family friendly.

Whether you re a hiker, mountain biker, snowmobiler or ATV rider, you can enjoy a different sort of exploration on the Southern Bangor and Aroostook Trail. This 37-mile, multi-use trail follows an old rail bed, so it s relatively flat. It makes for a great trip as it winds through small towns in southern Aroostook. Want some fun on the water? Stop by in the spring for the annual Meduxnekeag River Canoe Race. It s run each spring for more than 35 years and draws paddlers to a 9.5 miles stretch of the river, ending at a park downtown.

In May, join a hoard of other beer lovers in welcoming spring and a bunch of new brews at the annual Black Fly Brewfest. Over the 4th of July weekend each year, you can enjoy the Houlton Agricultural Fair, featuring concerts, amusement park rides and agricultural attractions.
