Service Technician at US Foods, Inc. summary : The Service Technician performs preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel equipment such as tractors and trailers within a fleet maintenance facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.
Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules / regulations and government guidelines.
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Onsite : The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
Ability to work flexible schedule.
Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
