The successful candidate for the Tool and Die Specialist position will be responsible for supporting the procurement of new and replacement injection molding tools and stamping dies, trial runs of new molds / dies, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of all Tesla's molds and dies. The candidate should be well versed in the operation of basic tool room equipment. Additionally desired specialized skill sets include : Laser Micro welding, TIG and MIG welding; Basic proficiency in the following software a big plus : Solidworks, Catia, and Surfcam software.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day coverage for production molds / dies, swiftly responding to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtime
- Implement and modify PM documents and schedules under Tool and Die Supervisor's guidance
- Perform major repairs, rebuilds, and coordinate between shift and weekend work for smooth operations
- Assist in developing PMs and procedures for equipment maintenance
- Design, fabricate, and fully document Tool and Die improvements and modifications
- Troubleshoot electrical / mechanical systems and connections between Tool and Die and machines
- Manage Tool and Die consumables and spare part inventory, providing effective direction, coaching, and training to enhance shift employees' skills and support production goals
