Crate and Barrel Designers help customers see what is possible with the latest on-trend merchandise by building meaningful relationships and using their knowledge to guide customers looking to furnish an entire room or add an accent piece. Designers stay up-to-date on trends, work with styles from classic to contemporary, and use digital tools during in-store and in-home consultations to bring our customers’ visions to life.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales and a differentiated experience by providing enriching customer interactions and elevated design offerings in-store, in-home, and virtually.
- Create elevated designs using design tools to produce moodboards, 2D & 3D floor plans, product lists and customer presentations.
- Lead design consultations in person (in-store or in-home) or via email, phone and virtual.
- Deliver projects in a timely manner within determined timelines.
- Understand brand aesthetics and merchandising strategy by channel (Store, E‑Commerce, Catalog).
- Maintain knowledge of product information, characteristics, care information, and industry trends.
- Meet or exceed sales, KPI and service goals, productivity standards, and engage customers on the sales floor.
- Identify customer needs and communicate company loyalty services (e.g., designer rewards, Design Trade Program, credit card).
- Provide excellent service with a positive attitude and enthusiasm, ensuring gracious, quick, and efficient service.
- Support store training and education on design services to drive understanding of offerings.
- Develop new and lasting relationships with customers through networking and clienteling.
What you’ll bring to the table
Understanding of basic design functions including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.Strong communication skills and the ability to translate the brand vision and customer needs.Tech fluency with 2D / 3D tools, Google Suite, video conferencing, and iPad; proficient in floor planning.Ability to stay up to date on current design trends.Proven track record of building long-lasting relationships with customers.We’d love to hear from you if you have…
6+ months of competitive sales or interior design service experience preferred.Ability to move and / or lift up to 50 pounds; heavier merchandise with team assist.Full-Time roles : Open availability to work flexible hours on weekdays, evenings and weekends.Part-Time roles : Availability to work two or more weekend days and at least one weekday or night.Compensation
Minimum Starting Rate : $16.00 Hourly
Up to : $36.00 Hourly
Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to salary, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentives.
