Jailer / Correctional Officer Job Description

Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in a correctional facility? Do you have a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to upholding the law? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Charles Mix County in Lake Andes, SD.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and monitor inmates to ensure Inmate daily care and safety.
  • Maintain order and discipline within the facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections of cells and common areas.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations.
  • Escort inmates to and from court appearances and other appointments.

Qualifications :

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to restrain individuals if necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License
