What You'll Do

As a Facilities Specialist, you'll be part of our Stanley Black & Decker team located in East Longmeadow, MA. You'll get to :

Perform a variety of duties including renovation / upkeep of the overall building infrastructure to include three facilities totaling 665,480 sq. ft. Work from established schedules, equipment operating and maintenance manuals, prints, parts list, etc., and respond to emergency situations 24 / 7.

Responsibilities :

• Use basic cleaning equipment and materials such as brooms, mops, pails, as well as steam cleaner and some carpentry tools.
• Empty baskets, remove litter, waste paper, other refuse and deposit in designated areas. Sweep, mop, wax and buff floors and post warnings where required.
• Use hand tools and power hand tools such as drills, saws, other equipment to facilitate installation and fabrication.
• Move and relocate office and conference room furniture and equipment as required. Replace cement and finish floor blocks. Operate steam cleaner to clean barrels, machinery, lawn equipment, etc. Operate powered hand truck to move long trash cart with barrels, other containers throughout the plant.
• Detect and report defective equipment and material, as well as unsafe or unusual situations to the supervisor. Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices.
• Works as an assistant with multiple trades including the grounds with cleanup efforts, and snow removal.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or work as part of a team and the ability to work well and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds.
