Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee interior construction projects — including laboratories, hospitals, and specialized facilities — throughout the greater New York area.
This position is responsible for leading all on-site field operations : supervising trades, maintaining safety and quality standards, managing schedules, and ensuring that every aspect of the project aligns with the company’s expectations for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and document all day-to-day site activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and schedule goals.
- Direct field staff and subcontractors in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Participate in project turnover and pre-mobilization meetings to establish logistics, staging, and field setup plans.
- Develop and maintain the project baseline schedule and manage two-week look-ahead schedules with the project team.
- Conduct safety meetings with all trades before starting work on site; ensure adherence to OSHA and site-specific programs.
- Utilize predictive safety tools to proactively identify and prevent potential issues.
- Oversee project quality benchmarks, inspections, and documentation throughout all phases of construction.
- Attend and lead job meetings — including owner, subcontractor, and foreman coordination sessions — to maintain communication and progress.
- Manage field documentation including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and material deliveries.
- Maintain current as-built drawings, revision logs, and subcontractor correspondence.
- Supervise project close-out, ensuring completion of punch lists, owner training, and turnover documentation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Assistant Superintendents and Field Engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline (or equivalent field experience).Minimum of 4+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects as a Superintendent.Demonstrated success overseeing interior construction , preferably in healthcare, laboratory, or life-science environments .Strong understanding of MEP coordination, infection-control protocols, and complex building systems.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (Procore, MS Project, etc.).OSHA 30-hour certification required ; ICRA or healthcare construction training preferred.Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, urban construction settings with multiple active trades.Commitment to core values : Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism, and Caring.
