PICU RN Job Details Location : Lubbock, TX 79410 (Texas healthcare jobs) Facility : Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens) Start Date : December 1, 2025 End Date : March 2, 2026 Assignment Length : 13 weeks Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Weekly Hours : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1910–$2050 Patient Ratios : 1 : 2 / 3 Scrub Color : Navy Parking : Free in any unrestricted space; bike racks available Floating : May float between pediatric units and sister facilities Weekend Coverage : Required (variable) Block Schedules : Available PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission) Minimum 1 year of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing experience BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) charting system Ability to provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Willingness to float between pediatric units and healthcare facilities as needed Commitment to work at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) PICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU Monitor and manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP / CPAP and ECMO (if applicable) Care for patients with central / implanted lines and continuous sedation Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage cardiac dysrhythmias Administer IV vasopressors and manage critical care medications Perform suctioning (ETT, NT) and ventilator management Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive pediatric patient care Float between pediatric units and facilities as required Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel PICU Registered Nurse in Lubbock, Texas, and take the next step in your pediatric nursing career!
