The City of Boca Raton is seeking candidates for the position of Police Officer. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary of $87,491.04 annually. The job is located in Boca Raton, FL within the Police Services Department, Bureau of Field Services 22 / 07401.

Applicants must undergo an extensive selection process including evaluation of training and experience, written and computer-based tests, interviews, polygraph examinations, psychological evaluations, background checks, medical examinations, and drug screens. The process may last 16 to 24 weeks. Reapplication is allowed after six months. Candidates must provide at least ten years of continuous employment history or account for all time in the ten-year period prior to the date of application.

Non-certified officer candidates must attend a Florida Criminal Justice Entry Level Training Program (police academy). Physical agility tests are required for all applicants, and a valid State of Florida driver's license with no more than six points for the past three years is necessary. Applicants must be at least 19 years old, U.S. citizens, of good moral character, and not have been convicted of a felony or perjury.

The background check process includes criminal background checks, employment verification, reference checks, motor vehicle reports, workers' compensation, certification / license verification, credit checks, fingerprinting, polygraph tests, neighborhood checks, psychological examinations, physical examinations, drug and alcohol screens, and pulmonary function tests.
