Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Travel Position

Location : Lake Geneva, WI

Job Type : Travel Contract

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 5x8s

Pay : $2,270 / week

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Lake Geneva, WI. The Emergency Nurse will provide rapid assessments, urgent interventions, and high-quality care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, or trauma. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, adaptable, and experienced in emergency and critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid assessments and ongoing monitoring of patients in emergency situations.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions according to physician orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely care.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital safety standards, infection control policies, and emergency protocols.
  • Respond effectively to critical changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin (or compact license).
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to provide effective care in fast-paced, high-pressure emergency settings.
