Empire Cake, a popular gourmet American-style bakery, is seeking qualified candidates for a Morning Baker at it's new Flagship Bakery in Greenwich Village.
The Morning Baker is responsible for baking, finishing, and packaging all of our house made items, such as cookies, scones, and muffins. Our brand new flagship kitchen is where we bake and prepare all of our products for both our Chelsea and Greenwich Village locations.
We are looking for a reliable baker to work from Monday - Friday, starting their shift at 5am . Experience decorating cupcakes is not required, but is a plus. Once baking is finished, the Morning Baker will move on to finishing and cutting bars, mixing and scooping cookie doughs, or other similar tasks.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for baking all cookies, scones, muffins for both locations
- Follow baking instructions and adjust baking times accordingly
Working off of inventory and par sheets for two locations to bake correct amounts for each store
Properly finish, date, and package all items in time to be sent by 8am
Must be able to prioritize and finish all tasks assigned for the daily baking. Work independently in those moments when the supervisors are not immediately availableInform supervisors when any equipment is not working properly and anticipate when food supplies or prepped items are getting lowKeeps a clean workstation and assist in soft cleaning of the kitchenPerform other related duties as assigned based on evolving business needsMaintaining the kitchen production process to maintain the workplace safe and hygienic for all employees.Scaling all recipes and follow proceduresSKILLS
