Key Responsibilities

  • Program, operate, and troubleshoot Hexagon CMMs using PC-DMIS software.
  • Develop and validate CMM inspection programs based on technical drawings, 3D models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) requirements.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspection of precision components to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain traceability and documentation of inspection results using internal systems and quality records.
  • Utilize a wide variety of inspection and metrology tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges, and surface plates.
  • Track and manage calibration of gauges and inspection equipment in compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to identify critical features and inspection requirements.
  • Support quality investigations by analyzing inspection results and contributing to root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve inspection processes and optimize CMM utilization.
  • Comply with and support the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control and inspection methodologies.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in PC-DMIS programming and operation (including offline programming).
  • Experience with Hexagon CMM hardware (bridge, horizontal arm, or portable arms).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles per ASME Y14.5.
  • Familiar with ISO 9000 series and ISO 13485 standards, particularly in a manufacturing or regulated industry environment.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
