The Impact You'll Make in this Role
- The person hired for the position of Production Planner will manage supply chain product flow to support customer requirements.
- Schedules procurement and manufacturing for a specified group of products.
- Manages raw material and semi-finished inventory buffer quantities.
- Monitors and reports capacity requirements, special order and stock service levels. Continuously works to improve the planning and scheduling process.
- Identifies ways to improve customer service, inventory investment, and supply chain efficiency to achieve measurable results; participates in implementation.

Delivering targeted service and inventory dollar investmentLeading supply and demand synchronization operational activities with assigned product lines and value streamsAnalyzing material flow parameters such as safety stock, order quantity, lot size, make cycle frequency, and replenishment intervalUtilizing Supply Chain tools and processes, SAP and Legacy (GGSM, PeopleSoft, Figures, COMS, etc.)Utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve service, inventory turns, and non-working inventoryCoordinating supply chain activities to ensure successful events and promotionsPartnering with Business Supply Chain (BSC) on capacity planningExecuting planning standard workYour Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)Two (2) years of supply chain planning experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations Management, and / or Business Administration (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited universityExperience with SAP and 3M legacy systemsTwo (2) years' experience leading and / or participating on cross functional teamsAPICS certification or willingness to pursueSix Sigma Green Belt project experience and / or certificationContinuous Improvement Project leadership experienceAdvanced data analysis, Microsoft Excel skills and Power BI SkillsWork location :
