Location : Utica, NY, 13502
Duration : 13 week
Shift : 12hr Night; 6 : 30PM - 7AM
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Weekly Pay Rate : $2,088 - $2,232; Depending on experience (negotiable)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic Medical / Surgical team in Utica, NY. This is a 13-week night shift contract role on a high-acuity Stroke Stepdown Unit . Ideal candidates will have a strong background in Med / Surg nursing and prior experience caring for stroke patients in stepdown or progressive care settings.

Key Responsibilities :

Deliver direct patient care to adult medical / surgical patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Manage and monitor stroke patients in a stepdown setting, recognizing changes in neurological status and initiating appropriate interventions.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, therapists, and case managers to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

Administer medications, perform assessments, document in the EMR, and provide comprehensive nursing care per hospital protocols.

Float to other units as needed within the RN scope of practice.

Educate patients and families about stroke recovery, discharge planning, and health maintenance.

Required Requirements :

Experience :

Minimum 2+ years recent MS Stroke Stepdown experience .

Documented travel nurse experience .

Certifications (Required) :

Current AHA BLS

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Licensure :

Active New York RN License

All active RN licenses .

Other Requirements :

Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Must be willing to float to other units as needed
