Overview
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking entry level Electrical Engineers. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also using these standards and tools to contribute to project success. As an entry-level Electrical Engineer, you will be a part of a growing team that supports all aspects of the construction process by performing innovative design engineering through brainstorming conceptual designs, performing and / or reviewing electrical calculations, developing plans, scheduling tasks to meet client needs, as well as mitigating risk to keep our construction crews safe.
Location
This role is in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
Reviewing wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, schematics, data sheets, and other technical drawingsResearching and analyzing requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documentsPreparing fundamental engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with Kiewit standardsProviding preliminary equipment specifications for major electrical componentsConducting bid evaluationsCoordinating electrical equipment contracts directly with vendors and maintaining necessary engineering documentation and listsDeveloping and managing cable and raceway data using cable and conduit scheduling softwareCollaborating with engineers, designers, project managers, construction teams, and vendorsGaining familiarity with departmental design standards, relevant engineering codes, and policiesQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited, four-year institution is requiredEngineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferredA cumulative GPA above 3.0 is preferredProficiency with essential computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, web browsing, and email programs, is expectedA strong work ethic, high motivation, and a commitment to achieving quality results are essentialMust be a US citizen with documentation for badge accessPass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position dutiesOther Requirements
