Summary
Monitors Individual Education Plan (IEP) paperwork for placement options of Special Education students across the district. Collaborates with case managers, school psychologists, related service providers, and administrators to ensure legal compliance with IDEA and state / federal regulations. Maintains databases that determine authorization for exceptional education funding and serves as a resource for staff on special education compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities
Review and monitor IEP paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with case managers, service providers, and administrators regarding placement options.
Ensure IDEA legal documents comply with state and federal requirements.
Maintain and update databases for exceptional education funding.
Act as a resource for staff on compliance-related matters.
Support the implementation of special education policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree in Social Services, Education, or related field and one year of office experience
OR three years of general office experience
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar database / spreadsheet tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to multi-task and apply basic math skills
Preferred Requirements
Bilingual (English / Spanish)
Experience or knowledge of Special Education laws, rules, and compliance requirements
