We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Wayne, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a crucial role in managing financial processes and supporting our real estate clients. The ideal candidate excels in accounting practices, demonstrates proficiency in relevant software, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports tailored to client needs.
- Manage fixed assets, including tracking and maintaining records.
- Perform accruals and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile trial balances and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Collaborate with real estate clients to set up and distribute financial templates.
- Handle corporate and sales tax processes, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and organize financial data.
- Work with accounting software, such as Caseware, to streamline processes.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Proficiency in preparing financial statements and managing fixed assets.
- Solid understanding of accruals and trial balances.
- Experience with corporate and sales tax filings.
- Strong skills in journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Familiarity with accounting software, such as Caseware.
- Ability to work on-site during standard business hours (9 AM - 5 PM).
