Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Job Title : Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT)

Location : Denton, TX Area Schools

Position Type : Part-Time, Contract, On-Site School-Based

Pay : Starting at $48.00 / hour (Based on experience)

Position Overview :

Blazer Jobs is seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) to provide part-time educational services to students in the Denton, TX area schools . The ideal candidate will deliver specialized instruction to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, helping them achieve academic success and communication independence within inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide direct and consultative instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels.

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique communication and learning needs.

Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff to ensure accessibility and effective accommodations.

Utilize and promote the use of assistive listening and communication technologies.

Foster language development through a variety of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), speech, and written English.

Monitor and document student progress, maintaining compliance with state and district requirements.

Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote consistent support across settings.

Requirements :

Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or related field.

Valid Texas teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education.

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.

Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.

  • Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
  • PART TIME (1-3 full days per week)
