Nurse Tech - Labor & Delivery - Part Time

Job Summary : Performs selected nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. A non-licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger who is responsible for direct and / or indirect care of the patient. Education : Required : Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program. Preferred : N / A Experience : Required : Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills. Medical background required. Preferred : N / A Position Requirement(s) : License / Certification / Registration Required : BLS completed prior to going to the unit / department and maintained going forward. De-escalation training. Department Position Summary : The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in Labor & Delivery. The employee must not give any medications, including pain pills, any injections, insulin, or provide eye ointment or vaccines to any newborn.
