Job Description :   This is a high-profile role in the organization working closely with the firm’s executives and parent company teams.  The Business Operations team plays a critical role in managing day-to-day activity in the firm, supporting strategic initiatives, new ventures, and the organization. The Business Operations Specialist works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and internal stakeholders on new business projects and business improvement projects to optimize business processes by applying proven methodologies and leveraging cutting-edge technology to give the firm a strategic and competitive advantage, and business support. Business Operations partners with all areas of the firm to deliver sales, trading, and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Business Operations oversees essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm’s services and reputation. Business Operations activities span all product lines, markets, and functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workflow and support COO to implement new business ventures and improvements,
  • Perform business and data analysis, maintain spreadsheets of business data,
  • Assist with document preparation, retrieval, and retention,
  • Assist with or manage wide range of projects and deliverables,
  • Support project management and vendor oversight, including leading projects, and  collaborate with other departments to support new application implementations, product development, and process improvements,
  • Knowledge of SEC, DOL, State, and foreign securities regulations and business regulations and ability to apply regulations to business processes on a practical level,
  • Interface with parent company on new projects,
  • Work closely with Sales and RFP teams on RFPs, DDQs, and new and / or amended Investment Management Agreements,
  • Work closely with other teams across all areas of the firm and treat co-workers as internal clients.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments while working under pressure to meet important deadlines,
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills,
  • Adaptability, open to new ideas and improved processes,
  • Team player, ability to work with teams to project completion, and build collaboration for new initiatives,
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of investment team members, staff, external counsel, employees of parent company, vendors, and clients,
  • Must be able to keep information confidential.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in financial services or asset management
  • Paralegal experience or legal training strongly preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Salesforce, and other financial services applications
