Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing patient care and ensuring the well-being of individuals during case stays. RNs collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals (anesthesiologists, dentists and paramedics) to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role requires clinical expertise, compassion, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

SmileMD uses a  unique care model that brings together the anesthesiologist, registered nurse, and paramedic to add another layer of comfort, safety, and support for patients and dental practices.

SmileMD has a flexible schedule for life and work with no evening shifts .   Surgical days are offered to practices Monday through Saturday and case day schedules are available a minimum of 6 weeks   in advance . A typical case day starts at 7 a.m. and ends by  3 p.m , however every case day is different depending on the number of patients seen.   Staff will be scheduled to work 5 days per week. When there are no cases assigned on a scheduled day, employees are expected to remain available to perform other duties as assigned, including acting as a substitute for case days assigned to other team members.

Patient Care and Assessment :

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on the assessment findings and evidence-based practice.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
• Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and response to treatments, and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care.
