Location

Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.

Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Career Services will report to the Director of Career Services and will oversee and manage the Employer Relations Coordinator, the Assistant Director of Career Planning & Development, and all the Graduate Assistants for Career Services. This position will oversee all Career Development initiatives, Employer Relations account management, and Career Services Events implementations. The Associate Director of Career Services will assist the Director of Career Services in setting goals and implementing strategies for success. The Associate Director of Career Services will join the Director of Career Services in the QEP and Momentum initiatives to ensure Career Services is meeting the needs of our students and community. The Associate Director will maintain and develop positive working relationships with key university personnel such as Academic Affairs, Facilities, Athletics, University Advancement, University Communications, and others essential to meeting the goals and aspirations of the university. They will assist with monitoring budgets that include student wages, operating supplies, and other facility needs.

Responsibilities

1. -

Manage and strategize programming to increase Career Services impact on career readiness success for UWG students. Assist in managing efficiencies for operations of Career Services. Assist in the management and development of career services programming.

2. -

Collaborate with faculty / staff to increase Career Services brand across campus and build engagement strategies that will increase student career services outcomes and engagement. Collaborate with Career Services leadership to develop marketing materials to enhance the Career Services brand and provide necessary training for students, faculty, staff and external community partners. Manage each of the areas of responsibility including but not limited to career planning and development, employer relations, graduate assistants, and other career related programs supporting the mission of Career Services. Leads all aspects of career fairs planning and execution while assisting in coordination of other Career Service programs, including events, career planning and development initiatives, mentorships, meetings, and special projects.

3. -

Assist the Career Services Director to manage the development and analysis of data analytics, dashboards, and metrics for the various programs and student career readiness assessment goals. Participate in initiatives such as the QEP, Momentum and any other programming that impacts career readiness for students at UWG.

4. -

Participate in the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE). Represent career services on campus and in the community as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelors Degree

Required Experience

Minimum five (5) years of professional work experience in higher education, career services, human resources or closely related field or combination. Minimum three (3) years of experience supervising professional and / or paraprofessional staff Effective communications skills (interpersonal, written and verbal); ability to communicate with varied audiences; experience giving presentations Demonstrated strategic planning and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience

Master's degree in a field closely related to human resources, career counseling, public relations or sales / marketing. Minimum five (5) years of professional work experience related to employer relations, business development, college recruiting, human resources or career services.

Proposed Salary

$68,000 - $71.000 Annually. Paid on a monthly basis.

Physical Requirements : Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment.

KNOWLEDGE

Strong project and event management skills; strong organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of relationship management databases and other tools related to career service resources management.
