Medical Assistant
Position Title : Medical Assistant
Department : Pulmonary Associates
Purpose : Supports and participates in the provision of safe, effective and culturally competent care for clinic patients under the supervision of the practitioner. In addition, provides clerical support for clinic operations and actively participates in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
Report To : Manager

Education : High school plus additional course work up to 1 year
Field Of Study : Medical Assistant
Special Training : Basic Life Support, keyboarding, and computer experience
Training Preferred : ICD, CPT, Best Practices for Immunizations
Licensure / Registration : Certified or Registered Medical Assistant within 12 months.
Experience : More than 1 year experience required.
Interpersonal Skills : Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are of moderate difficulty and sensitivity. Contact with others may involve detailed & lengthy dialogues & exchanges of information. Requires a moderate amount of interpersonal skills. Interactions involve dealing with moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters.
Working Conditions : There is limited exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions. There are some health and safety risks. Position may require safety equipment and precautions. The amount of time the employee may experience these moderate conditions is limited to 35% or less of their work day.
