Role Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and rehabilitates patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. This role requires developing individualized plans of care in compliance with all regulatory and clinical practice standards.

Key responsibilities :

Screen, evaluate, and provide therapy for patients with speech, language, swallowing, or cognitive disorders.

Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to guide interventions.

Monitor patient progress and update treatment plans in the clinical record.

Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust services or make referrals as needed.

Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.

Collaborate and communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members.

Complete comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements.

Accurately document services and treatment minutes in the electronic medical record system.

Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehab meetings, and facility in-services.

Obtain necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical standards.

Supervise and mentor CFYs or SLP students as needed.

Adhere to ASHA, state licensure regulations, code of conduct, and ethics for professional SLP practice.

Submission Requirements

1 year of SLP experience – Required

New Grads OK – if Level II experience completed (not Level I observation only)

LTC or SNF experience – Required

MO State License – Required

CCC Certification (SLP-CCC) – Required

3 years experience holding active CCCs – Preferred
