Senior Underwriter

Join a Federal Contract supporting a government-backed loan program as a Senior Underwriter. The position is fully onsite and potential for full-time (W2) or part-time (1099) roles. Multiple positions are available and must live in the Greater Washington D.C. region : Virginia, the District, or Maryland.

Requirements : U.S. Citizenship

Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Similar

12+ years of experience in federal and commercial underwriting

Familiarity with GAAP, FCRA, and OMB Circular A-129

Skilled in complex debt structuring and assessing private sector project finance

Technology Sector underwriting experience

Must pass Federal Background Check

Skills :

Responsible for leading the evaluation of complex loan applications

Ensuring compliance with federal credit policies

Assessing financial risk across a portfolio of public or private sector borrowers

Provide expert analysis and decision-making support throughout the loan lifecycle, including underwriting, structuring, credit scoring, and recommending approval or mitigation strategies aligned with agency objectives

Preferred : Masters or MBA

Federal Government Loan experience

Program Management Professional certification, CPA, Chartered Financial Analyst
