The Guild for Human Services is seeking a Residential Assistant Part Time - Adult

Location : Dedham, Walpole, Norfolk, Foxboro, MA

Summary

To assist the Residential Manager (or Lead / Assistant Residential Manager) in the development and implementation of a comprehensive residential program for each of their assigned individuals.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual who lives at the residence including completing laundry and cleaning assignments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of each individual's residential ISP / IEP and daily activity schedule.
  • Attend and support individuals participating in all community experiences.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans for individuals who live in the home.
  • Provide supervision of all individuals while under his / her care.
  • Administer and record individuals' medications, in compliance with MAP.
  • Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1 : 1 responsibilities at all times and locations.
  • Participate in any meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
  • Engage in de-escalation of individuals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including inclement weather.
  • Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job.
  • Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportation of individuals.
  • Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI).
  • The ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residence.

    • Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Must meet Massachusetts CORI background requirements.
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or the ability to obtain MAP certification within the first 90 days of employment.
