For more information, visit www.eyecare-partners.com. SECTION 1 : Job Summary The Community Outreach Coordinator operates in a dual role as Community Outreach Coordinator and Ophthalmic Technician. These positions support the delivery of vision care services and expand community access through outreach and education. This individual will assist with clinical eye exams and also engage with community partners, patients, and the public to promote awareness of available services, coordinate outreach events, and track patient impact data in alignment with grant objectives. SECTION 2 : Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers to promote CEIF services.
  • Represent The Foundation at outreach events, vision screenings, and health fairs.
  • Coordinate mobile clinic events and support transportation logistics as needed.
  • Track and report outreach and patient engagement data for grants and internal use.
  • Assist with creating outreach materials (flyers, event announcements, etc.).
  • Perform duties as an Ophthalmic Technician
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great patient service.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization, as defined by management. SECTION 3 : Patient Population Served (For nursing / patient care positions)
  • Team members will work with patients of all ages, races, and genders. SECTION 4 : Experience Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a clinical, healthcare, or community outreach setting required.
  • Comfortable using electronic health records.
  • Previous experience in community outreach settings.
  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Optometric Technician preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other language) preferred
  • Experience working with Medicaid populations or in underserved communities. SECTION 6 : Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Ability for basic to intermediate problem solving, including mathematics
  • Basic to intermediate computer operation o Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Travel to other site locations may be necessary. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards
  • Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines SECTION 7 : Supervisory Responsibilities :
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities Location : Work takes place in a normal office / clinical environment. Travel to other locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards. Exposure : Works in normal office environment during normal business hours. May be exposed to blood or bodily fluids. May also be exposed to various cleaning supplies. Equipment : Regularly uses Ophthalmic equipment / devices per sub-specialty requirement such as keratometer; phoropter; visual acuity measuring / B-VAT; ultrasound unit; specular microscopy unit; corneal topography unit; retinoscope; slit lamp microscope, telephone, computer, fax, printer and copier. Other equipment may be used as needed. Must be able to work with precise tools and equipment; must have dexterity to use these items correctly and safely.
