Job Title : Dental Assistant Profession : Dental Assistant Specialty : - Duration : 12 weeks Shift : Day Shift Hours per Shift : 36 hours guaranteed Experience : Minimum years of experience required : N / A License : A valid driver's license is required Certifications : Certificate or evidence of completion of a dental assistant training program preferred, unless required by contract or applicable statute Must-Have : Must be at least 21 years of age Description : The Dental Assistant is responsible for professional dental assistance during treatment. The position spends a minimum of 75% of time performing duties involving contact with individuals in a correctional institution. The incumbent should be able to perform all functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with job requirements. Assist the dentist with the treatment of individuals by setting up instruments for each patient and preparing impressions and filling materials. After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit and instruments used and replace instruments prior to the next patient treatment. Control medication, syringes, and other supplies or equipment; inventory as required by established procedures. Keep equipment and work areas clean; utilize appropriate sanitation methods. Review services provided to prevent inappropriate use or duplication of services. Review the status of individuals for completion of all necessary interventions, treatments, and services. Open availability to work per scheduling policy is expected. Fingerprinting is done on the first day, and the worker is eligible for guaranteed hours while clearance is pending.
