Registered Nurse (RN) Medical / Surgical Telemetry (MS / Tele) | 3x12s Day Shift

Location : Washington, DC

Schedule : 3x12-hour day shifts

Contract Type : Contract

Pay Rate : $67 / hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical / Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract assignment in Washington, DC . The RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients with a variety of acute medical conditions on a fast-paced Med / Surg Telemetry unit.

This role is ideal for nurses who excel in managing multiple patient needs, monitoring cardiac rhythms, and collaborating across the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill the needs of patients, families, and the community through professional, competent nursing care.
• Deliver care in accordance with licensure, training, and hospital policy, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development principles to provide age-appropriate care.
• Obtain, interpret, and evaluate patient data to determine nursing needs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments, including comprehensive reviews of systems, with timely and accurate documentation.
• Complete admission assessments and care documentation per policy and within established timeframes.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, responding appropriately to cardiac changes.
• Coordinate care plans, medication administration, and patient education in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications :

Basic Life Support ( BLS )

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS )
• Licensure :

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, DC

• Experience :

Minimum 2 years of recent Medical / Surgical or Telemetry experience

• Cerner experience preferred / required (adjust as needed)
• Education :

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program Required

• BSN Highly desired
