This position is for you if :

  • You have 5 years of related industry experience and / or training in mechanical and electrical operations and have a manufacturing aptitude.
  • You have the ability to take the initiative and work with minimum supervision.
  • You enjoy developing and maintaining a strong sense of teamwork among team members.

Join our team

As the successful Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the nursery and all equipment while overseeing the team.  The supervisor also solicits suppliers and other vendors in order to procure the supplies and / or contractors needed to complete upkeep and projects within the established budget. Key responsibilities include promoting a safe and compliant work environment through consistent enforcement of safety policies.

The job details

  • Establish, evaluate, and improve the preventive maintenance program for all physical assets in the Nursery.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of greenhouse structures, irrigation systems and environmental control systems (heaters, vents, fans, etc.)
  • Perform or coordinate preventative maintenance on motors, pumps, electrical systems, conveyors, and other production equipment.
  • Trace and analyze causes of plumbing, irrigation, and water well problems and make repairs as needed.
  • Responsible for inspecting the progress of assigned work orders.
  • Supervise and assist tradesmen in the completion of their work.
  • Maintain awareness of the physical condition of the property and immediately correct unsafe conditions.
  • Organize maintenance shop, keeping inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Provide advisory assistance in regard to equipment and facility needs and conditions
  • Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, service requests (received and completed), expenditures, and status of work in progress
  • Ensure that safety practices / procedures are adhered to through the department
