Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer in the spacecraft manufacturing sector, you will oversee the review and approval of designs and drawings, ensuring their readiness for release. You will be responsible for crafting and releasing work instructions, managing make / buy decisions, and collaborating with vendors for efficient procurement processes. Your role will include performing research and development on new processes, designing workflows, and implementing Six Sigma methodologies. You will also support customer deliverables and guide technicians and production teams on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Review and sign off on designs, ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is implemented.
• Conduct tolerance stack-ups and analysis to achieve high production rates.
• Verify manufacturability of parts and ensure drawings have inspection and cleaning codes before sign-off.
• Drive make / buy decisions to align with production schedules.
• Monitor procurement to ensure parts are ordered and delivered on time.
• Coordinate with vendors for qualification of new processes, maintaining regular communication.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your products, handling troubleshooting and non-conforming products.
• Support floor activities, ensuring no delays in technician progress.
• Prepare work order packages and direct planners on Manufacturing Orders (MOs).
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
• Support all floor activities, including testing and documentation for customer deliverables.

The work environment is a fast-paced manufacturing setting, with a combination of cleanroom and office spaces. The dress code is business casual.

Job Type & Location

Contract to Hire position based out of Littleton, Colorado.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00 / hr.
