The Role
Charlies Produce is looking to add an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join their team in South Seattle. We are seeking a professional who is attentive to details, on time, a team player, and willing to work hard.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Preventative maintenance / diagnosing and running repairs on a variety of equipment including tractors, trailers, lift gates, reefers, and yard goatsConduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicle safety and performanceUtilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairsR&R truck components including engine, transmissions, axles, brakes, lift gates, etc.Engine / transmission diagnosis, A / C repair, electrical – charging / starting / lighting / suspension and steering repairPerform diagnostics and repairs on heavy diesel engines, machines and related systems, including lift gate hydraulics and transmissionsUtilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issuesMaintain accurate records of repairs and services performedWork on and maintain refrigeration trailers and box trucksComplete required paperwork for repairs, documenting parts usage, and repair timesQualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Knowledgeable in the diagnosis and repair of all makes of electronic controlled diesel engines; fleet experience is a mustMechanical and diagnostic knowledge / experience in diesel engines and refrigeration unitsBasic welding skills (TIG, MIG, and stick)Ability to read, write, and speak English fluentlyAbility to read / follow technical manuals & verbal instructionsComfortable with the use of factory scan toolsProfessional mechanics toolboxHigh school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's LicensePreferred Skills and Experience
Cummins and Detroit CertificationsReefer maintenance experienceClass A is a plus, Class B preferredAdditional Information
