The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs tests for patient diagnosis, progress or deterioration and medical research. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and gives radiopharmaceuticals to patients when indicated and uses high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the patient’s body. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works in collaboration with physicians to provide the images for interpretation to study and diagnose a medical condition. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist gives doses of radiation to patients internally to treat various medical conditions when prescribed by a physician. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist participates in a variety of technical tasks, tests and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities

Execute nuclear medicine procedures and manage radioisotope doses.

Uphold radiation safety and ALARA principles for all.

Maintain detailed records of isotope usage and radiation safety measures.

Engage in patient care, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures.

Contribute to team efforts and continuous quality improvement.

Handle administrative tasks related to patient records and billing.

Experience Preferred :

PET (positron emission tomography) scan and Cardiac experience preferred

1 year of experience required

WA State Certification can be acquired upon offer
