Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in tourism, public relations, business administration, hotel / restaurant management, marketing, journalism, or related fields, along with at least one year of experience in a tourist development setting. Applicants within six months of meeting these requirements may be considered for trainee status.
A valid Florida Driver License is required, with a Motor Vehicle Record meeting Alachua County policy #6-7 standards. Records showing more than three moving traffic infractions or at-fault accidents within the past 24 months may disqualify applicants. Successful completion of background checks is mandatory.
This position involves coordinating tourist development activities to generate leads for group travel, conferences, events, and individual tourism, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.
This is an emergency essential classification. Employees are required to work during declared disasters or emergencies.
