Fire Safety Technician
The University of Iowa Facilities Management is seeking a highly motivated person to work as a Fire Safety Technician at either the Fire Safety Technician I, Fire Safety Technician II, or Fire Safety Technician III classification based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Under direct supervision the person in this role will perform skilled and semi-skilled duties required for inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of fire safety equipment. Utilizes plans for proper conformance with fire safety equipment codes and inspections of facilities to determine additional needs for fire safety equipment. This position is performed fully on campus.
Duties to Include :
Location : MSSB
Shift : Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 AM- 3 : 30 PM, overtime as required. Due to the critical operational needs of the department, this position may be required to work overtime and participate in the Facilities Management Standby Program.
About Facilities Management :
Facilities Management (FM) is a service unit of approximately 500 employees who work behind the scenes, 24 hours a day, serving the University of Iowa as stewards for our downtown Iowa City campus and Oakdale campus in Coralville. FM staff coordinate campus master planning, manage design and construction, and maintain and clean the buildings and grounds.
