Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and proteins.
Accurately measure and portion ingredients per standardized recipes.Prepare sauces, marinades, dressings, and other base items.Label, date, and store prepared items in accordance with food safety protocols.Assist with basic cooking tasks such as baking, grilling, and sautéing as needed.Kitchen Organization :Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, refrigerators, and dry storage areas.
Follow "First In, First Out" (FIFO) inventory procedures to reduce waste.Ensure all tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.Health & Safety Compliance :Follow all ServSafe and company sanitation standards and procedures.
Maintain knowledge of and compliance with local health department regulations.Immediately report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.Team Collaboration :Work alongside line cooks and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
Provide support during events, tournaments, and high-volume service periods.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to maintain smooth workflow.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Minimum 6 months of prep or kitchen experience in a professional food service environment preferred.Ability to read and execute standardized recipes.Strong knife skills and understanding of food safety best practices.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.Punctual, dependable, and professional.Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.Requirements
Work Environment and Physical Demands :
Indoor kitchen setting with exposure to heat, noise, and kitchen equipment.Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by events and seasonal demands.Benefits :
