Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Labor and Delivery Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (L&D) Shift : Nights – 3x12-hour shifts (18 : 00–06 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : [Not specified – typically 36 hours / week; facility may call off once per pay period] Contract Length : 91 weeks Start Date (Modified) : 11 / 17 / 2025 Charting System : Epic Parking : Free on first day; assigned parking during orientation Scrubs : Any solid color (typically Royal Blue or Navy) Facility Highlights Type : Acute Care Hospital Total Staffed Beds : 150 Location : California (50-mile radius rule applies) COVID-19 Vaccine : Not required Flu Vaccine : Unknown (verify at submission) Local Candidates : Accepted (at lower bill rate) Pending License : Not accepted Account Manager : Jordan Hinojos Email : Unit Overview Unit Type : Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Newborn Care Beds : 15 Rooms : 11 Daily Census : 15–20 Patient Population : High-risk OB, culturally diverse population RN Responsibilities : Circulate for cesarean sections Labor and postpartum care Newborn assessments and couplet care Interdisciplinary Support : Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, PT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Phlebotomy, Interpretation Services, Rapid Response Team, Lift Team Position Requirements Experience : Minimum 1 year of L&D experience First-Time Travelers : Accepted Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Holiday Requirement : Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) Float Requirement : Yes – between like units and possibly sister facilities Block Scheduling : Per manager discretion On-Call : Not required RTO : Must be included at time of submission Required Certifications All certifications must be active and issued through the American Heart Association (AHA) : BLS – Basic Life Support ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program AWHONN Intermediate – Fetal Monitoring (Preferred / Required for most facilities) Skills & Clinical Competencies Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in : Labor & Delivery and Couplet Care High-risk OB and Antepartum Cesarean section circulation and recovery Postpartum hemorrhage management Fetal heart monitoring (EFM, IUPC, NST, OCT) Epidural anesthesia and magnesium sulfate therapy Administration of blood products and oxytocin Newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and phototherapy Lactation and breastfeeding support Emergency procedures (e.g., eclampsia, shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage) Patient education and discharge teaching (Candidates missing required core L&D skills should not be passed; may screen if otherwise strong.)
