Overview

This is not a Risk Analyst role. This role is outsourced to Aon's client PrinREI (Principal Real Estate Investors) a division of Principal Financial Group responsible for supporting functions of the Risk Management Department.

Located in downtown Chicago , this position is hybrid. This is not a virtual role.

Reports to PrinRei's Assistant Director of Risk Management. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Program Processes and Procedures

  • Collect and organize all relevant risk management data.

  • Update all relevant risk management data collected on a regular basis and be able to administer, distribute and have a working knowledge of such data daily.
  • Track, collect and follow up on outstanding Risk Management documentation needed for various projects.
  • Request, distribute, and organize insurance certificates.
  • Provide insurance expertise across property and casualty lines, including policy interpretation and coverage adequacy.
  • Analyze risk exposures for diverse asset classes and advise on appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Collaborate with Development Managers and Joint Venture Partners on insurance needs and renewals.
  • Review and recommend insurance terms in contracts; manage insurance certificates.
  • Support Owners Association insurance programs, including D&O coverage.
  • Offer ongoing risk management support and mentorship to internal collaborators.
  • Other Functions :

  • Collaborate with the risk management specialist to streamline administrative processes and improve productivity.
  • Create and update building replacement cost reports using Marshall & Swift; purchase NFIP flood insurance as needed.
  • Provide input on property claims and attend industry or carrier meetings.
  • Contribute to risk management communications and initiatives for senior management and partners.
  • Special Skills

  • 5 years' experience with commercial property and casualty insurance.
  • Advanced level experience with Microsoft 365 products (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze and work with data sets of various size to drive change through data analysis.
  • Strong Communication Skills needed as a contributor addressing C Suite members.
  • Must be organized with the ability to prioritize day to day responsibilities.
  • Creative and Analytical Thinker and self-starter capable of working with minimal direction.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree - concentration in Risk Management a plus
  • Professional certificates such as ARM or CPCU a plus
  • Experience with insurance underwriting or brokerage

    Pay Transparency Laws :

    The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant's geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
