Looking for an exceptional individual to fill the role of Mechanical Engineer for our growing mechanical department. The successful candidate will be committed to results and have a strong sense of personal responsibility for company performance. The candidate will be able to maintain a high-level perspective coupled with a strong attention to detail.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the quality and quantity of mechanical engineering design products. They will work with other engineering staff to provide engineering solutions for our projects in various commercial, institutional, governmental, winery, school, and healthcare facilities.
Client is an established consulting engineering firm with 26 years of experience specializing in designing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical building systems. Its primary office is located in the Green Valley neighborhood of Fairfield, California. We pride ourselves on delivering client-centered MEP design services that meet the highest level of sustainability.
Requirements And Qualifications
- 7+ years of mechanical system design experience in a US-based A / E firm or design-build contractor
- California PE license
- LEED AP or the ability to become accredited
- BSME degree from an accredited university
- Proficiency in California mechanical, plumbing, and fire codes, including Title 24 Energy Standards
- Knowledge of energy modeling software
- AutoCAD experience
- Fire sprinkler design is also a plus
- Expertise in HVAC energy modeling software
- Revit and AutoCAD MEP experience is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong organizational and people skills
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment
- Ability to work well within a team environment, especially under deadline situations
Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for concepts and documentation from schematic through construction administration phasesDesign and layout of mechanical systems for new construction, retrofits, and system upgradesHVAC load calculations plus air and water pressure drop calculationsMechanical System selectionDetermine project scheduling requirements, workforce requirements, and project budgets.Assemble design drawings and documentsOversee QA / QC process of projects, including draftingPrepare specifications, technical reports, and system narrativesPrepare and document required code research for projectsSite investigations, field visits, and construction administrationInterface with team members of other disciplines in our integrated collaborative environmentCoordinate with Architect, Civil and Structural engineersIdentify opportunities to improve quality and services and participate in their implementationWorkload and Schedule
The workload for this position requires at least 40 hours per week. Client supports a flexible work schedule, which can be negotiated with management.
