Construction Superintendent
Compensation Range : $117,000.00 - $195,000.00
Job Description Summary : Supervision of the construction project resulting in successful project completion
Position Responsibilities and Duties :
- Able to complete all essential Superintendent responsibilities.
- Oversee field personnel, participate in recruiting efforts, development, and oversee assignments.
- Manage site operations and serve as on-site point of contact for complex field matters on assigned project(s).
- Serve as technical expert on site(s) and escalation point on complex field matters.
- Manage trade partners / vendors to ensure compliance with subcontract requirements, scope, and company standards.
- Oversee field planning from preconstruction to closeout and ensure a positive client experience.
- Develop and oversee project schedule(s). Experience with Primavera P6 is preferred. Identify risks early address and avoid project issues.
- Identify field issues and facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to find appropriate solutions.
- Verifies building systems, envelope, and controls to achieve project design requirements.
- Prepare and / or review project documentation from reports, schedule updates, risk alerts, delays, invoices, time sheets, performance reports, etc.
- Lead field / project meetings (kick offs, issue resolution, client meetings, etc.)
- Oversee MEP coordination, resolve code and design issues or concerns.
- Oversee project inspections, testing, and permitting to avoid retesting or delays.
- Oversees take-offs / procurement and proactively reviews budgets with project team to determine potential variances.
- Responsible for day-to-day project labor productivity and material budgets.
- Ensure billing and change orders accurately reflect field progress.
- Communicates field payment issues with the appropriate staff members.
- Participates in pursuits, preconstruction activities, and provides estimating support.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements or Experience Requirements :
Degree in construction related field or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or equivalent construction working experience.8-10 years in construction field related role (such as Asst Super, General Foreman, etc.) managing and / or leading on-site operations of new construction vertical projects over 15 stories (i.e. multifamily residential).Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification or can attain STS Certification within six months of hire.Experience with overseeing multiple sites, field personnel, and successful project delivery.Extensive knowledge of construction means, processes, and systems (estimating, schedule management, quality, and safety procedures, etc.)Experience with coordinating trade partners, field logistics, and sequencing.Ability to read, translate, and navigate plans and specifications onto construction activities.Well versed in project cost, budget management, and change order protocol.Applicable knowledge of building codes and OSHA laws.Able to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge / skill areas.Great resource management regarding the proper usage of equipment, facilities, materials, as well as personnel.Advanced computer skills; working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Bluebeam a plus.Effective written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to travel as required by management and supervise multiple projects over large geographic areas as required.Fully knowledgeable & capable of managing all on-site operations of high-rise construction projects, including safety, quality control, crisis management, scheduling, logistics planning, procurement, and labor crew supervision.Highly experienced with urban construction sites involving high-rise construction, specifically with cast-in-place concrete superstructures with below-grade foundations and cellars requiring deep excavations and earthwork shoring systems.Holds established relationships with trade partners, city officials, inspectors, and A / E firms in and around Westchester County, NY.
