Leidos, a premier defense, intelligence, and technology company, is excited to welcome a full-time Configuration Management (CM) Specialist to our Digital Modernization Group on the Global Solutions Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This position is integral to the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Scott AFB, IL.

Your Opportunity :

Join our dynamic GSM-O team as a Configuration Management Specialist! You will play a crucial role in network operations and engineering, ensuring the reliability and security of vital communication infrastructure.

What You'll Do :

Maintain and enhance the configuration management plan outlining processes, standards, and tools for effective management across our diverse DoD network.
Play an essential role in the change management process by assisting in the request, evaluation, approval, and implementation of changes to configuration items (CIs) including servers, routers, and circuit data.
Ensure all CIs are accurately labeled and identified in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Receive, track, and analyze change requests (CRs) within our Service Now platform, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
Monitor progress on approved changes for correct implementation.
Conduct regular audits of CIs to verify adherence to established baselines and standards.
Document, report, and address discrepancies between auto-discovered configurations and their documented counterparts.
Prepare and deliver audit reports to management, highlighting critical findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
Assist in developing and maintaining Service Now dashboards that represent baseline CIs across DISN.
Contribute to the creation and revision of process documents to reflect best practices and current practices.
Engage in the continuous enhancement of CM processes and procedures.

What You'll Bring (required) :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in Configuration Management or a related IT field.

Experience utilizing Service Now for tracking and managing change requests (1+ years preferred).

Strong understanding of networking concepts.

Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Must be able to obtain a secret DoD security clearance prior to the start date (sponsorship from Leidos is available).

U.S. Citizenship is required.

This position requires on-site work at Scott AFB, Illinois.

What We Want (desired) :

Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe.

ITIL Foundation Certification.

Strong grasp of IT principles, programming fundamentals, and networking concepts (typically including OSI Model, Python, Ansible, Yang, HTML / XML, VBA, SQL, Unix / Linux, Bash, SED / AWK).

Experience customizing and administering ServiceNow CMDB dashboards and reports.

Familiarity with managing configuration management databases.
