Responsibilities Position based in the Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotation Mixed ICU patient population with a focus on medical ICU cases such as DKA, multisystem failure, sepsis, pneumonia, and COVID-19 Additional cases from surgical, neuro, and CVICU including open abdomen, thoracotomies, craniotomy, EVDs, and post-op cardiac procedures Patient ratios typically 1 : 2-3 depending on acuity Float as helping hands to respiratory unit, surgical, tele, PCU, or ED Uses Epic for charting and BD Alaris IV Pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems 18 mixed ICU beds in a 388-bed facility Position excludes assignments to CRRT, impella, balloon pumps, and ECMO Professional scrubs of any color are allowed Part of a level 3 trauma center with a collaborative ICU team environment Must be able to provide supervisor or higher-level clinical references prior to starting Holiday work may be required per unit policy Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol, chest tubes and drains, and invasive line monitoring (a-lines, CVP) Experience with Epic charting preferred Travel nursing experience strongly preferred Strength in medical ICU preferred over CV / surgical experience Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618564.
