Job Title : Yoga and Movement Coordinator
Position Overview :
The Yoga and Movement Coordinator at Wild Rice Retreat is responsible for managing a dynamic, seasonal, and intentional yoga program for our retreat (on-site) and community (off-site) guests. This role requires excellent organizational skills, clear communication with yoga teachers, Wild Rice Retreat leadership & staff, and a strong understanding of yoga practices that align with Wild Rice Retreat's core pillars of Nourishment, Movement, and Expression.
In this role you will work closely with Wild Rice Retreat's Immersion Coordinator and other Yoga and movement instructors to build out the wellness calendar and teach classes.
Key Responsibilities
Class & Teacher Scheduling :
- Create and manage a comprehensive yoga schedule at least four weeks (more preferred) in advance : One morning yoga class (two in peak season) and one other yoga or movement or class per day, seven days a week, year round
- Coordinate with local and visiting teachers to ensure diverse and consistent offerings
- Schedule new teacher auditions and maintain an active, high-quality teacher roster. These auditions can be in-person or online via digital meeting platform
Calendar & Website Management :
Publish and maintain up-to-date class schedules on internal (Google Calendar) and external platforms (Wild Rice Retreat website). Training on these platforms will be provided, as neededCollaborate with the Wild Rice Retreat leadership and marketing team to edit and update the website's yoga-related contentGuest Experience & Teaching :
Teach yoga classes to on-site guests as needed, offering accessible, thoughtful practices aligned with the retreat environment. It is preferred - but negotiable - that the Yoga Coordinator is also a regular teacher at Wild Rice Retreat. Appropriate certification and qualification to teach at Wild Rice Retreat is a requirementDesign class offerings to reflect the seasonal rhythms and the natural surroundings of BayfieldCommunication & Coordination :
Serve as the main point of contact for all yoga and movement instructorsCommunicate contract terms, including invoicing process. Ensure filing of signed agreement and paperwork for vendor set-up. Communicate, as needed, with the Retreat Director regarding Accounts PayableSupport guest teacher logistics, including booking lodging, teaching environment orientation, and ensuring smooth arrival and departure processesSub for teacher cancellations as needed or find subsSpace & Supply Oversight :
Coordinate with the Assistant Retreat Director & Supervisors of the Guest Experience Team and Housekeeping to ensure yoga space class environments are clean, welcoming, and appropriately equippedTrack inventory at the beginning of each month, including mats, blocks, blankets, mat sprays, and straps. Recommend purchases to replace and expand inventory, as neededMake and maintain mat cleaning spray and other studio essentialsQualifications :
Certified yoga teacher through a Yoga Alliance-registered school (minimum RYT-200, higher preferred)3-5 years of teaching experience is preferredStrong organizational and administrative skillsExperience in class or program schedulingComfortable updating websites and using digital calendars or scheduling toolsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsA collaborative mindset and flexibility to adapt in a retreat settingPassion for wellness, nature, and community-based programmingPIfdc100c11a67-30511-38872595
