Title : Lab Technician

Location : Akron, OH

Pay Rate : $18-23

Position Summary

This role involves performing tasks in an R&D laboratory environment, including sample preparation, physical testing, and chemical analysis of rubber materials. Responsibilities include operating specialized instrumentation, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. The position requires knowledge of laboratory testing tools and techniques, acquired through education or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, energetic, and team-focused, with the ability to complete tasks independently while supporting internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory processes.
• Prepare rubber specimens using hand tools and knives.
• Operate, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment / software.
• Perform physical and chemical tests in accordance with established procedures.
• Compile and maintain data, control records, and test reports.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, and team members.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills to meet priorities and turnaround goals.
• Work with chemicals and in environments with potential dust, fumes, heat, or noise.
• Lift items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods, as needed.
• Assist in additional laboratory tasks where trained, with minimal supervision.
• Learn and apply new concepts, expanding skill sets beyond the primary work area.
