In the US Army, Radar Repairers work to maintain and repair sophisticated surveillance radar systems. Their role is crucial in detecting enemy artillery and mortar rounds.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Additionally, they must meet specific tattoo guidelines, have no major law violations, and pass medical screening. Furthermore, they must achieve certain ASVAB score requirements, specifically a minimum of 107 in Electronics (EL) or 90 in Skilled Technical (ST).
Training includes both basic and advanced individual training, with opportunities for nationally recognized certifications. Key skills learned include radar and computer electronics, maintenance and repairs, and math and physics.
The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. They will also possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
