About The Position

Job Title : Radiologic Therapist

Experience : Minimum of 1 year preferred

License : Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate

Certifications : ARRT (T), current BLS certification

Must-Have : Must be registered or registry eligible and complete the requirements to become registered within the first year of employment.

Description :

With minimum supervision, administer radiation therapy treatments and simulation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologist.

Must be able to judge when the treatment should be withheld until consultation with the radiation oncologist.

Must be able to assist in treatment planning procedures, including tumor localization and dosimetry.

Maintain consistency with administrative and departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.

Work in the assigned area following guidelines applicable to that area.

Maintain an accurate schedule and see patients on or before their appointed times whenever possible.

Explain procedures to patients.

Assess patients and family members for special needs, including dietary, psychosocial, nursing, and physician consultation.

Prepare rooms and equipment for use.

Provide a safe and clean environment for radiation oncology patients.

Properly report variations in treatment setup or dose delivery to the person in charge and / or oncologist.

Report erratic operation of equipment to the person in charge and / or biomedical personnel.

Observe radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.

Perform accurate documentation and record-keeping.

Perform weekly chart checks on the opposite machine and rotate that responsibility each week with a partner.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
