National Service Program Support Director

The Problems You'll Solve
National Service Program Team Management
- Manage a team of 3-5 full-time staff National Service Program Coordinators which includes overall task / work plate management, weekly check-ins, mentorship and coaching.
- Develop professional development training for the 3-5 Program Coordinators based on needs and program changes.
- Develop and / or revise member and host site management policies including but not limited to member performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and host site evaluations.
- Support the Program Coordinators with member and host site challenges including, but not limited to, performing mediation, attending host site meetings, and providing coaching to Coordinators.
- Provide support to host site supervisors including leading best practice learning sessions.
- Oversee the development and revision of program handbooks.
- Lead elements on member and supervisor trainings including on program policies and procedures during orientation.
- Oversee member and host site resources including the online portal (which includes all member and supervisor training information) and resource library.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of member committee(s) and ensure that the committee(s) is on track to meet its planning and member development goals.
- Implement office hour framework for all programs with Program Coordinators to ensure program connections and support outside of trainings.
- Oversee the planning on special events and service days such as 9 / 11 Day of Service, MLK Day of Service, AmeriCorps Week.
National Service Program Support
Contribute to elements of the host site selection process including reviewing application materials and participating in the selection process.Manage elements of the creation, development and distribution of member contracts and host site agreements.Support elements of the member and host site onboarding processes.Advance NYC Service Mission, Values, and Goals
Represent NYC Service at select events and support NYC Service all-staff events, as needed.Be available on select weekends and on select evenings, as needed.Support City initiatives as needed, including but not limited to possible emergency response (e.g. evacuation shelters, etc.).About You
You have a strong track record of leadership, management, time-management, multi-tasking, problem-solving, organizational communication, research, analytical, writing, and proofreading.You have the ability to work well under pressure and maintain an enthusiastic work ethic, which includes being flexible and respectful of different work styles, maintaining a positive and helpful attitude, while embracing each of the team's contributions.You have the ability to take initiative, prioritize duties, work independently and within a team environment, pay close attention to detail, achieve excellence, meet deadlines, do appropriate follow-up.You are an accountable team player with demonstrated ability to produce high quality work.You have strong knowledge of the NYC nonprofit sector and / or city government.You are an AmeriCorps alum and / or have previous experience with AmeriCorps in a staff role, desirable.You have experience with mediation, social work and / or conflict resolution a plus.You have knowledge and skill in program design and relationship management.You have passion for service and civic engagement.You have a sense of fun and of the possible.Qualifications
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years satisfactory full-time experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the particular position.
