Dee Zee, Inc. is seeking a motivated Process Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing process improvement, risk reduction, and operational efficiency. This internship provides exposure to real-world engineering projects that support quality, safety, and productivity on the plant floor, offering meaningful preparation for future professional employment.
Accountabilities
- Review high-risk failure modes and their detection / prevention controls to ensure proper risk reduction for customers.
- Develop shared loading and capacity overviews for equipment and tooling based on historical production and future-state projections, providing recommendations on area consolidation, capital expenditures, and staffing.
- Conduct time studies and process reviews to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, cycle times, and operator requirements.
- Create, review, and update work instructions to support training and consistent operations.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to process and quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to adapt to a manufacturing environment with exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and variable temperatures.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis or CAD software is a plus.Ability to take direction, work independently when needed, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
