Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Rugby, North Dakota 58368 (North Dakota nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Acute Care - Medical Surgical Unit Contract Length : 13 weeks (10 / 27 / 2025 - 1 / 26 / 2026) Shift : 12 Hour Nights (straight nights) Hours : 36 hours per week guaranteed Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860 - $2000 Unit Size : 18 beds (staffing for up to 10 beds, all private rooms) Scheduling : Self-scheduling available; block scheduling possible; every other weekend required Orientation : 1 full 12-hour shift with a preceptor Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - compact or North Dakota state BLS certification required ACLS and NIH Stroke Education preferred Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience IV therapy experience required Experience with EPIC charting system preferred Ability to assist in Emergency Room (ER) as backup if needed Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and occasional pediatric patients with diverse diagnoses (pneumonia, rehab, UTI, post-op, pain control, fractures, dementia, and more) Manage nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1 : 6 or less (occasionally up to 1 : 8 on night shifts) Titrate drips as needed (primarily Cardizem) with support from ER nurse and pharmacy Interpret and monitor cardiac strips (Phillips brand) Perform breathing treatments, chest physiotherapy, and provide patient education Collaborate with charge nurse, nurse aides, and interdisciplinary healthcare team Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), ambulation, and rounding as needed Maintain accurate documentation using EpicCare Inpatient EMR Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your Med / Surg nursing career in Rugby, North Dakota!
