Job Purpose

The Sr Acct Rep role manages new model development activity from new model award issuance to mass production start timing following Honda’s 6 phase new model review process between the customer, HT offices, suppliers and / or vendors. Program development may take 1-3 years from award thru mass production launch with final step be successful launch of HTA supported parts.

Role will also include quality requirements, from model award, mass production, and service. Includes supporting documentation requirements, investigating and counter-measuring trouble reports, managing design changes, and any other quality-related activity.  Working with the supplier to ensure hard countermeasures are implemented and effective.  Communication between HTA and the customer must be clear and continuous.

Key Accountabilities

Quality New Model Development and Mass Production Quality :

  • Responsible for meeting Honda’s requirements and expectations for all new model parts awarded to Honda Trading. Targeted result is a full ‘GO’ from Honda on each New Model Review phase. Associate will coordinate the development, review, report, and submitting of all new model documents required for new product launch by working with multiple internal and external contacts for relevant information ensuring accuracy, timeliness and on-target for overall project completion.

Honda Information Management :

  • Support on-going review, analysis and reporting to Honda on additional development requirements for design changes (eDICS), trouble reports (NARS), capacity inquiries (CMS) and packaging (NAPS).
  • Supplier Visits :

  • As it relates to the new model development process, associate may visit at various stages during the new model review process to create and foster good working relationships, training on launch process, and validating information included in the development process.
  • Internal Meetings :

  • Facilitate meetings with relevant parties to review NM project status, including hand-off material for new model parts to mass production. Material presented should be accurate and complete, and allow for successful handoff of part activity to the mass production team members.
  • Quality Assurance Validation / New Model Review Activity :

  • Lead in reviewing supplier self-assessment of their QAV to verify if supplier ranking meets viable supplier category. Perform and validate Business quality audit on potential new suppliers that meets the requirements in the self-assessment, validating potential future supply possibilities.
  • Import and Export Quality Report :

  • Responsible for quality trouble reports received. Communicating information to the supplier, investigating issue with the supplier while updating the customer on progress.
  • Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

    Minimum Educational Qualifications :

  • BA / BS in Business Administration, Engineering, or similar, or relevant minimum experience
  • Minimum Experience :

  • 3-5 years in automotive or Honda Tier 1 new model, quality and / or mass production
  • Other Job-Specific Skills :

  • Project management
  • Quality audit (ISO 9001, TS 16949, ISO 14001) and quality validation audit
  • Strong analysis skills
  • Microsoft suite proficiency (excel, word, ppt)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Assess supplier documentation for accuracy and completeness; coordinate independently to ensure requirements are met correctly.
  • Review and submission of accurate supplier new model documents to customer
  • Review and work with suppliers to countermeasure quality issues that occur, if necessary, arrange sorting of parts and consensus between supplier, inspection company and the customer
